About the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators
The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) is the umbrella body for mediators in Kenya and the wider East African region. Incorporated in 2012 as a company limited by guarantee, ICMC brings together mediation practitioners, institutions and corporate users of mediation under one professional framework.
As an affiliate of MTI International East Africa, the Institute is guided by a distinguished Board of Directors representing diverse sectors engaged in mediation. ICMC works closely with domestic and international mediation bodies and is pursuing a strategic partnership with the International Mediation Institute (IMI), a global nonprofit dedicated to promoting excellence and transparency in mediation practice.

What we offer
Training
ICMC provides comprehensive training standards developed by the Mediation Instruction and Competency Evaluation Task Force, ensuring high-quality professional formation for mediators.
Mediation
Mediation offers an effective and widely trusted method for resolving disputes without resorting to litigation.
Membership
ICMC accredits mediators across Family, Civil/Commercial, Labour, Restorative Justice and other relevant fields within Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
